Guests and Guest Speaker

Natasha introduced her guest Janice Goudie.

Program-chair Bob then introduced his guest speaker Adam Brake.
Adam, who grew up in Corner Brook, is Artistic Associate for TNL and part of his role involves coordinating the Youth Theatre program in Corner Brook.
Adam began by talking about his own artistic vision by relating his own acting experiences and his involvement in the Youth Theatre as a teen. He believes that empathy is at the core of the Arts and he learnt this from his mentors over the years.
When he teaching at Grenfell Fine Arts faculty, his aim by using his own experiences and philosophy, was to create good theatre artists.
He spoke of the Theatre Newfoundland and Labrador theatre program, which helps students learn about all aspects of theatre.
One of TNL ‘s functions is to preserve the Newfoundland cultural experience. Though rehearsals are held in Corner Brook their work has been shown on both the national and international stage.     The new theatre in Cow Head will enhance this work.
Gerry thanked Adam for his interesting talk.
On spinning the Rotary Wheel good news stories were shared before the meeting was adjourned
