The World Polio Day proclamation was signed by the Mayor Jim Parsons of Corner Brook at City Hall on Friday, October 23 A day before the official date. In attendance were Rotarian club president Chris Healey, Rotarian club secretary Kathleen Snow, Rotarian Olaf Janzen and City Councillor and Rotarian Bernd Staeben. After the signing, the mayor, city officials, and Corner Brook Rotarians headed to the public green space at the head of West Street to plant tulip bulbs. More than a hundred bulbs were planted around the concrete foundation intended for the installation next spring of the “Corner Brook” sign. This has been a great Rotary project, one that benefited the “Rotary End Polio Now Fund” and which promises to help beautify the city in the spring.
