Rib Fest  
Interested Rotarians are invited to attend the next Ribfest meeting at noon on Friday, March 1 at the Port Authority.  
Executive Meeting
An executive meeting is to be held tomorrow, February 22 at noon at the Port Authority
Read A-Long
All preparations are in place for the Read A-long at JJ Curling School at 9.30am on March 6. If any Rotarians or friends would like to participate please contact Jeff.
Guest Speaker
Program-chair Gerry introduced the guest speaker Gladys Batten, chair of the Come Home Year 2019 committee. Gladys began by speaking of how she became involved with having a Come Home Year in Corner Brook in 2019 and how many are now involved in the Face book site. This site has members from not only North America but also countries throughout the world.  The 10-day festival will run from July 19 – 28. She wanted local musicians, artists, service groups and businesses to be involved and to benefit from the celebration.
Gladys went on to itemize some activities planned throughout the city. The committee will publish a booklet when activities are finalized.
Day 1, July 19- Opening ceremonies at Grenfell Campus with music and vendors, Humber Road Greasers dance at the Canadian Legion, Westmount Club will sponsor Jigg’s Dinner and Dance
Day 2 – Corner Brook Day celebration with a dance at the Civic Centre. SPCA Dance at the Seaport Lounge.
Day 3 – Picnic Day held at three sites Bartlett Point, Margaret Bowater Park, St Mark’s Avenue Soccer field, breakfast at All Hallows and SPCA sponsored cold plate at the Elk’s Club.
Day 4 and 5 – Plans not yet definite
Day 6 – Coleman’s will sponsor this day,
Day 7 - Concert at the Studio
Day 8 - Breakfast at the Legion, Broadway event.
Day 9 – West Street Days with activities on the United Church Lawn, Antique car display, Craft Fair
Day 10 – Ecumenical church service.
Commemorative pewter pins in the shape of the mill whistle will be sold during the festival.
Gladys answered questions before being thanked by Martin.

Ribfest Meeting: Meeting at noon on March1 at Port Authority
Rotary Read A-Long: To be held at JJ Curling School, Woodbine Avenue at 9.30am. Volunteer Rotarians and friends are asked to arrive at the school between 9-9.15am to determine the class to which they will be reading and peruse the book. The books bought by the Club and chosen by the school will be displayed
