Program and Meeting Schedule

Trina has sent via  email a proposed meeting schedule  with there being two lunch meeting presentations with program chairs each month. From previous discussions and the club survey it is thought  that on the 4th Thursday of each month there will be a community service project. More about this will follow later. A suggestion was to approach Search and Rescue to see if volunteers would be needed to help patrol at Halloween.

Rotary Club Shirts/Caps or Hats

Kathleen will investigate costs etc for Rotary polo shirts, caps, or winter hats from local companies..

Trina introduced Andrea the Rotary Area Governor whose area is Western Newfoundland and Labrador. She spoke of the video from Louisa, District Governor who urged Clubs to think outside the box. Andrea spoke how much of the lunch table discussion and issues raised were very similar to those of her Club in St John’s. She went on to speak of the fundraising done by her Club that has an annual auction but also sells tickets on ‘Trip of the Month’ which is very successful.  She noted her Club is incorporated so is able to offer tax receipts for donations. Andrea was thanked for her visit and talk

The Rotary Wheel was spun and good news stories were shared before the meeting was adjourned at 1.30pm
