Notes from the Rotary Meeting 12.30pm Thursday, September 19, 2024
President Jackie chaired the meeting.  
Guest Speaker
 Rotarian Lorraine introduced guest speaker Debbie Brown, Events Coordinator for 62, Broadway which is a subsidiary of Laughing Heart Ltd. This new arts building at 62, Broadway, Corner Brook has in its building an event space, recording studio and artisan shop.
 On going Events and Programs at 62, Broadway include various workshops, from song writing sessions to community interest sessions.
 Debbie identified some that had been held including a song writing session led by artist Kellie Loder, a history of Newfoundland Folk music led by Rum Ragged, and a musical theatre session led by Ian Locke.
Debbie continued with her presentation by giving a quick overview of other happenings sponsored by 62, Broadway this year.
One community partnership this year was the 2024 Hip Hop Music Awards
and Free Brain, a sister festival of Wash Brain that was well supported by all ages In May a Music and Wellness Week was held that was successful
 A major project was the Tree Party 2024 held at the Blow Me Down Cross-Country Ski Park. There were over 250 people attending this multigenerational festival. There were 12 local vendors, 16 outdoor art installations and 22 fairy doors used to introduce businesses. This festival was such a success as it brought the community together to celebrate the magic of nature that it will be held again next year.
There will be a CD launch September 25 from 7 – 8.30pm of the Global Music Volume I Album. This is a celebration of immigrant musicians living in Newfoundland and Labrador. 
By partnering with the Grenfell Campus Backlot in October a Wash Brain one-of-a-kind festival will be held October 19th.  With Cadence Weapon, and White Rhino and others performing.  Mill Town records a subsidiary of Laughing Heart will have several releases during the fall so there will be lots happening at 62, Broadway
 Debbie answered several questions before being thanked by Paula and the meeting was adjourned.
