Despite covid concerns and regulations, the Rotary Club held two social activities this summer. The first activity on August 15th was to attend a concert at Holiday Inn Express featuring Anita Best, and Sandy Morris. Throughout the summer and early fall, the Cormack Concert Series sponsors concerts of traditional Newfoundland and contemporary music with local vendors also in attendance. This concert in Deer Lake was introduced by Rex Brown who also entertained the audience with one of his stories. It was a pleasant afternoon filled with traditional songs sung by Anita Best accompanied by Sandy Morris. Anita added to the concert by explaining the history behind the folk songs.  A barbeque was enjoyed later in August by Rotarians and friends at a member’s cabin. It was a perfect day that was enjoyed by all.
